It’s been a little while since I last blogged and thought as we are nearly two months into 2017 now would be a good time to revisit my NY Resolutions. For me I know I can get super stressed about failure, so the main thing I’m ensuring this year is to be chilled about my goals and not push myself too far (more relevant to my personal NY Resolutions that I decided not to publicise as they are super private). I’m not feeling well tonight; I have a large rash on both my thighs (yes I’ve done the glass test and no it’s not menigitis) and I vomited massively earlier so now feels like the perfect time for a little pick me up and give myself a pat on the back for doing well, as well as appreciating that **** happens and it’s ok to fail, just try and then try again and again.
- Read one new book per month: I am half failing at this one guys! I am currently reading two books; God on Mute by Pete Greig and Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, and not close to finishing either of them. With March fast approaching I’m going to have to put my reading glasses on and hurry up and read faster. Although this resolution isn’t life changing, it is teaching me the value of setting goals and trying to achieve them. It’s forcing me to put my phone down and take time out to read (even if I’m not hugely successful at it -I am learning!).
- Have a spray tan/self tan every 3-4 weeks: Woohoo yes I’ve done this… just! Since January I have self tanned three times and I love it! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, life is better tanned. I am currently sat in my dressing gown after fake tanning (no I didn’t do it just so I could say that in this blog!) and I love how glowy my skin looks. I’ve also finally learnt how not to have patches AND I’m not looking like an umpa lumpa -RESULT!!!!
- Invest time in people and be present: This is the one goal that I’ve really been working hard with and think is the most important. I have definitely been saying YES to a lot more things. I have been going out with friends and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I do enjoy socialising in bars and dancing, but I love a good old takeaway and movie. I’m learning to balance all these things though and realising moderation is key.
- Grow my nails: My nails still remain short but they are growing day by day. Yes I still bite them but I’m currently using Sally Hansen Maximum Growth nail polish -a clear polish which as the name suggests helps with increasing nail growth as well as strengthening them (can’t do better than that can you?).
